Make sense of a small balance

From unused miles to a practical next step

You do not need to be a frequent flyer. Start with the balance you have, then check the options and costs before making a decision.

01

Understand your options

See programme-specific ways to use or protect your balance, with the official rules and limits beside them.

02

Check whether points are worth using

Have an award quote? Add the points and cash fees to compare its cost with a cash ticket and see any points shortfall.

03

Plan the next flight

Use provider flight prices and itinerary details to compare routes, then check the final price directly with the airline or programme.

One planner, two goals

A few leftover miles? Or a status target?

Choose the goal that matters to you. Award miles help you pay for rewards; status progress tracks your route to a tier. The planner keeps these different balances separate.

What the result does—and does not—promise

Can I buy or book a ticket on MilesVector?+

No. MilesVector is a planner and comparison tool. We do not take payments, collect passenger details or make bookings, including test bookings. When you are ready, search and book independently on the airline or loyalty programme website.

Is MilesVector free to use?+

Yes. The planning beta has no usage charge. It does not sell tickets, so there is nothing to pay for on the site.

How is the value of a point or mile calculated?+

By comparing a cash fare with the award price for the same trip: the cash price minus the award's taxes and fees, divided by the points required. MilesVector shows that value per point next to your own minimum, and treats unknown fees as unknown rather than guessing.

Does a flight price or published award price guarantee availability?+

No. Flight comparisons are a snapshot; test data is labelled. Award references are not a seat-availability check. Confirm the itinerary, available seats, final points price and cash fees directly with the airline or programme.

Should I spend points just because they may expire?+

Not automatically. The planner separates urgency from value and may recommend protecting or extending a balance instead of accepting a poor conversion.

Can different airline miles be combined?+

Usually not. Pooling, transfers and household rules are programme-specific, so the planner never treats separate currencies as one balance unless an official mechanism supports it.

Can MilesVector help me reach airline status?+

Yes. Select “Reach status” in the planner to enter your current status progress and target. You can then explore eligible strategies and compare provider-priced routes where supported.
